Today is one of those days where I really remember why I love what I do. Researching today's introductory Senran Kagura piece provided me with one of those eminently pleasant situations where I was researching things and constantly finding out things I didn't know and which delighted me. I love it when this happens, particularly when it's with a series I thought I already knew quite well!
For me, the thing that surprised me the most was the fact that Senran Kagura's scenario writer was also involved with 428: Shibuya Scramble, two Fire Emblem games and Chaos Rings, among other things. That certainly explains a few things — most notably the depth of characterisation and backstory in the series as a whole — but more than anything, it was just one of those wonderful moments where you feel everything slotting into place and connecting nice and neatly.
I was going to go to the gym this evening because I was too tired to head there this morning. It's now nearly 1am, though, because I really enjoyed writing that piece. So I should probably go to bed. Chris and I are recording a MoeGamer Podcast this weekend, so please look forward to that on Monday!
