It forced me to do a total 360 on the game. I went from notoriously being the guy who joked that Overwatch was "the game that I want to buy action figures of the characters but not actually play the game" to scrabbling to find $60 so I can get the skins in the "origins" pack. I should have known that if anybody could make an online-only multiplayer competitive FPS that I'd actually enjoy, It'd be Blizzard. Now my fanart planning mechanisms are in overdrive.

If only Steam would use Free Demos for all their games they too would discover their sales exploding. When money is tight it is hard to buy a game unplayed and thus really unknown. There are so many I'd like to try but won't because I haven't money to throw away on something I might hate and/or never play past the first hour. So Steam, sit up and take notice and follow Blizzard's lead.

I didn't know much about TF2 until 2010, way behind the curve (same year I realized Steam even existed.) With how much my friends at the time pimped TF2 and how much fan-creation I'd seen over the years, it seems like Overwatch is going to be this generations TF2. I'm just purely speaking in the hype and discussion going on. I didn't try the beta so I have no idea how it compared to TF2 and other similar games, but it does seem to be reaching the stardom TF2's success brought.
