I think you should write for Niche Gamer. You'd be a good fit over there, and games journalism needs more voices friendly to Japanese games.

Games journalism also needs people to stop being bastard coated bastards with bastard filling, but that battle appears to be long lost.

I do wonder about the stories you could tell about your brief foray into that murky world, but I doubt telling them would be a good idea.

Fashion Gear for the win! So happy about this feature. One of the things I hated most about the original Xenoblade is how ridiculous my characters always looked with their patchwork gear. Now I can ensure my characters look how I want as I gain strength. So cool. I know it's a feature that's been around for some time in MMOs, and Diablo 3 . . . but this is the first console RPG I've ever experienced it with. Hopefully more devs follow suit.

I haven't gotten to it yet, but I've read you actually can alter your avatar's appearance later, even gender. Anything but the name basically.
