I'm not big on Microsoft's approach to video games (philosophically, and in business); and most of the games I'm really anticipating are Japanese games that will be better on/exclusive to Sony (or Nintendo).

That said, the existing PS4 exclusive lineup is fairly underwhelming so far. The only exclusives I've felt a particular compulsion to check out so far have been Infamous: Second Son, Resogun, and Transistor, and even then only because they were heavily discounted on PSN. Killzone, Knack, and Driveclub sound competent at best, The indie porting effort is admirable (as it is on the Vita), but most of those games aren't my cup of tea. I suspect that the higher-ups at Sony are really glad Microsoft bungled the Xbox One unveiling and launch so much, because it let them get away with a somewhat underwhelming first year as well.

I really only grabbed the PS4 this early on to take advantage of a Black Friday discount (which is apparently now a thing in Canada) as well as the FFXIV PS4 upgrade promotion. Were it not for those two, I could have waited for Final Fantasy Type-0, Final Fantasy XV, MGS V, or other heavy hitters.

They never did make up very much for the PSN debacle, where they used outdated security on the consumer side coupled with Fort Knox security on the corportate side, it really pissed me off. Couple that with their film studios getting broken into and the torrents already online, I don't think you should trust them.

All it takes is one disgruntled employee high enough up to make these things happen.
