Indeed, sex has become something of a tool to the media – this I concur with 100%. I don't think, on the other hand, that there is anything wrong with eroticism in video games (particularly visual novels). It is a large part of what it is to be human – not the whole part, but a big part and games like any other medium have the capacity to reach out to us on many levels. This should include those feelings.

Sex has crept into everything – some superficial, some narrative-connected, some suggested, implied, but quite large amounts blatant and in your face! While sex can be the 'be all and end all' of some scenarios, it's not the be all and end all of everything! Hmmmmm. Did I just say that? Me? No I find I can't elaborate on such an open forum. But I am a little surprised at myself.
Anyway, the thought that it has insinuated itself into computer games kind of shocks me – well surprises me – well I suppose on reflection, and if I allow my cynical trait to intrude doesn't surprise me at all. Confused yet? Or following and nodding as I go?
It's been in 'novel' format for longer than I can probably imagine, and in visual form likewise, with erotica from the Orient moving into the Western domains and setting off another whole wave of it. I saw my first erotic visual novel a while ago and was surprised. I thought it was kind of fun, sort of erotic, but a little bit unsettling.
You are right. It's invaded everything! As an artist I love gorgeous imaginative exotic graphics – I think I may draw the line at erotic graphics. I think. Not sure.
