The 1UP portion of the Squad's history was glorious and it is great that we all continue to keep the crew alive through other means. To think I would be conversing about games and other topics with people around the world who I have never actually met in person is mindboggling to me now.

1UP was no longer what it once was but I will always cherish the old site, the podcasts it spured and the friends I have "met" through it.

That's terrible. I never posted on their forums much, but I remember being a gigantic fan of their podcasts. The various 1UP podcasts from their heyday were some of the best games discussions on the entire Internet, and merged brilliantly with the (generally above-average) website copy.
