I found that the comic store near my house has a complete copy of Descent 1st ed. for about $50, which is an absolute steal. So I may be picking that up in the future.

It said that since monsters can respawn one monster at a time, it is always best to have a group of fewer, tougher monsters. That way, the efforts to take down a larger monster is rewarded with it reappearing right away. Conversely, killing a larger group of weaker monsters results in weak monsters being reassigned one at a time, a rather easy target for the heroes. This probably detracts a bit from the theme. I suppose it depends on how well the monsters are balanced.

I'm looking forward to playing again. I think that it'll be much quicker next time too.
