If you put a spider out the window or even at the end of the garden, isn't it just going to wander back to where it lives? If I was collected up in a big glass by a giant and released 100 yards away, I think I'd just go home, a bit shocked, but keen to get back to what I was doing.

Supposedly, the combined mass of all the spiders on the planet would exceed the combined mass of all the humans. There are plenty of spider out there, killing a few probably isn't going to cause an explosion in the fly population.

In conclusion, if you see a spider and don't kill it, you're letting us all down.
