I'm normally OK first thing in the morning—possibly because if I'm having a heavy night, I generally drink late enough to wake up still pissed in the morning. This means a gradual but inevitable decline throughout the course of the day, with a low point usually being hit around lunchtime.

Back in my university days, I had the uncanny talent to give my hangover to other people who weren't present at the time. This one guy called Andy always woke up the morning after I'd been on the lash with a thumping headache and I'd be absolutely fine. I long for those days to return but I fear they're long gone.
